Overview

Know What Your Batteries Really Hold

A battery can show full voltage and still deliver a fraction of its rated runtime. The only way to know is a discharge test: draw a constant current for the rated time and watch the voltage. A DC load bank does that automatically, holding the current steady and stopping at the end voltage you set, while recording every reading. The same unit tests chargers, rectifiers and DC buses.

  • Constant-current or constant-power control
  • Automatic stop at end voltage
  • Cell and string voltage logging (optional)
  • Polarity protection
  • Portable or permanently installed
  • Telecom, utility, UPS and storage ranges

In Plain Words

DC Load Bank in plain words

What it does

A load bank for direct current: it discharges batteries at a controlled rate to measure real capacity, and tests rectifiers, UPS DC buses and solar or storage systems.

Pick it when

  • You need to prove battery capacity (discharge test)
  • You test rectifiers, chargers or DC plants
  • You commission battery energy storage or DC buses

Better choice if…

You are testing an AC generator or UPS output

FAQ

Common Questions

Usually the battery’s rated runtime — often one to eight hours. The load bank holds the current steady and stops automatically at the end voltage.
