Overview

Megawatts in a Box

Commissioning a data centre or a generator plant can mean testing tens of megawatts. Containerized load banks pack the elements, fans and controls into standard containers that ship by truck and set with a crane. Several can be controlled together from one station. Medium-voltage versions connect directly to the switchgear, avoiding a temporary step-down transformer.

  • 20 or 40 ft ISO container body
  • Roof-mounted vertical discharge fans
  • Control room at one end
  • Multiple units controlled together
  • Low-voltage or direct medium-voltage connection
  • Resistive or resistive-reactive

In Plain Words

Containerized & Medium-Voltage Load Bank in plain words

What it does

Multi-megawatt load banks built into shipping containers — at low voltage, or connected straight to medium-voltage switchgear for large plants and data centres.

Pick it when

  • You are testing several megawatts at once
  • The generators or turbines run at medium voltage
  • You want the load bank to ship and set like a container

Better choice if…

Under a megawatt, a trailer or stationary unit is simpler

FAQ

Common Questions

Large generators and turbines often generate at 4.16 kV or 13.8 kV. A medium-voltage load bank connects straight to that switchgear, so no temporary transformer is needed and the test covers the real system.
