Overview

Testing Built Into the Site

When a generator is tested monthly and the building rarely loads it heavily, a permanent load bank pays for itself. It sits on a pad, wired to the generator output through a breaker. During a test it adds load automatically so the generator always runs at a healthy level, and if a real outage happens it drops off so the building gets full power. Vertical discharge sends the heat straight up and away from the generator air intake.

  • Permanently connected through a breaker
  • Automatic load-following during exercise
  • Drops off when the building needs the power
  • Vertical hot-air discharge
  • Remote control from the generator room or BMS
  • Snow and rain-hood options

In Plain Words

Stationary Outdoor Load Bank in plain words

What it does

A permanently installed, weatherproof load bank wired to the generator, so monthly and annual tests are a button press away.

Pick it when

  • The generator is tested often and the building load is too small
  • You want to test without hauling equipment in
  • The site has a pad beside the generator

FAQ

Common Questions

No. It is controlled to shed its load as soon as the building needs the generator, so it only takes power that would otherwise go unused.
