MV Utility Metering Cabinet
A factory-built cabinet for the utility’s instrument transformers and meter, with sealable doors, viewing window and a drawer for the voltage transformers. Up to 27.6 kV.
A Clean, Sealed Home for Revenue Metering
Revenue metering at medium voltage needs current transformers on each phase and voltage transformers to step the voltage down for the meter. The metering cabinet holds them in a sealable steel enclosure with a window to read them, a drawer that pulls the voltage transformers clear for safe servicing, and a separate enclosure for the meter itself. We build to the utility’s drawing, using instrument transformers that meet Measurement Canada requirements.
- CT and VT mounting to the utility layout
- Drawout VT compartment
- Viewing window
- Sealable doors and covers
- Separate meter enclosure
- Indoor or Type 3R outdoor
MV Utility Metering Cabinet in plain words
What it does
A stand-alone medium-voltage cabinet that houses the utility’s current and voltage transformers so it can meter a customer’s MV service.
Pick it when
- The utility meters at medium voltage
- The metering point is separate from the rest of the gear
- You need a cabinet built to the utility’s standard
Better choice if…
You also need the main breaker and feeders
